Yes. EU citizens have the right to live and work in Cyprus. After three months you register your residence with a Yellow Slip.
Yes. If a non-EU citizen is married to an EU spouse, the process is simple. If not, it is more complex but possible via different options such as Visitor, Specialised Worker (BFU) or via Fast Track Permanent Residency.
It’s a tax status for new residents. Non-Dom tax residents pay no defence tax on dividends or interest and benefit from a 15% corporate tax rate.
A valid passport or ID, birth certificate, proof of address in Cyprus, and proof of income or employment.
EU citizens receive a Yellow Slip within weeks if paperwork is complete. This grants indefinite residence rights in practice.
Around €2,000–€2,500 per month for a single person and €4,500+ for a family of four, depending on location and lifestyle. Costs can be higher if children attend private school.
Cyprus combines a low 15% corporate tax rate with the Non-Dom regime (no tax on dividends and interest), EU legal protections, straightforward residency for EU citizens, high English proficiency, a stable banking system, a warm climate and access to a growing international business community. Under the Non-Dom regime, there is only a 2.65% healthcare contribution with a cap at €180,000. This means the maximum dividends fee is €4,770 per annum.
Cyprus has a national healthcare system (GeSY) plus private clinics. Many expats use a mix of both for faster access. We recommend both, especially if you can afford it, so you can get the advantages of each. A private insurance for a young individual starts from around €65 per month for international coverage. Costs may vary based on individual health conditions and age.
